Milestones in HAKO history
Merger of the von Hagen company with the Koch company, the brand name HAKO is created.
Commissioning of the first self-designed and built piano band machine. This marks the beginning of the era of bar hinges, in particular the manufacture of bonnet hinges: Entry into the automotive industry
Opening up new markets in the USA and Canada
The automotive industry is introducing rear-opening bonnets, and the need for bonnet hinges is no longer present here.
Concentration on the core competence of steel processing;

The first automatic punching presses, each with a pressure force of 160 tonnes, are purchased.
Delivery of the first PV-68 fittings
for Velux roof windows
The tilt and turn fitting for Velux consisted of 82 individual parts such as stamped parts, rivets and bolts, springs, and a sophisticated surface finish.
This was an extremely great challenge for HAKO in terms of production technology and quality, which we were able to master successfully and so the fitting was supplied as ready-assembled parts until the 1990s, and later as stamped parts.
160 tonnes become 250 tonnes of compressive force
The first IT system is introduced in the commercial and technical areas.
HAKO know-how increasingly provides the basis for customers’ new products. HAKO becomes a development partner for the industry.
New production facility now produces at 1000 t.
